On Friday, May 20 2011, President Barack Hussein Obama made his long awaited speech about the current situation in the Middle East. In his speech, he called on Israel to cede much of its land to Palestinian terrorists and make itself a sitting duck for even more attacks. Furthermore, he blatantly withdrew American support for Israel, our truest ally in the Middle East, when he stated that Israel must “defend itself-by itself…” It is quite interesting, that not so long ago in 2008 then-candidate Obama, while courting the Jewish vote at AIPAC, claimed a completely different perspective on Israel. In order to get 80% of American Jews to vote for him, Barack Hussein Obama made the following statements to his constituents in 2008:
And I know–and I know that when I visit AIPAC I’m among friends–good friends, friends who share my strong commitment to make sure that the bond between the United States and Israel is unbreakable today, unbreakable tomorrow–unbreakable forever.
We know that the establishment of Israel was just and necessary, rooted in centuries of struggle and decades of patient work, but 60 years later we know that we cannot relent, we cannot yield, and as President I will never compromise when it comes to Israel’s security.
Our alliance is based on shared interests and shared values. Those who threaten Israel threaten us; Israel has always faced these threats on the frontlines and I will bring to the White House an unshakable commitment to Israel’s security. That starts with insuring Israel’s qualitative military advantage. I will insure that Israel can defend itself from any threat from Gaza to Tehran.
Any agreement with the Palestinian people must preserve Israel’s identity as a Jewish State with secure, recognized, defensible borders. And Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel and it must remain undivided.
Finally, let there be no doubt, I will always keep the threat of military action on the table to defend our security and our ally, Israel.
After he got elected, thanks in no small part to the American Jewish community, both in money and votes, Obama has continuously broken every single one of his promises regarding Israel and displayed his true anti-Semitic colors. He had snubbed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, encouraged the overthrow of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak by the Muslim Brotherhood, a sworn enemy to Israel, and now he is calling for Israel to divide Jerusalem, its holiest city which has never belonged to its Arab neighbors and relinquish much of its land, returning to 1967 borders. Lest we forget that the land Obama is referring to was won by Israel after it was attacked by five Arab countries with long established armies. Through bravery, courage, and G-d’s help Israel emerged victorious in the wars launched by its enemies and has given back much of the land it has won in exchange for peace.
I wonder if Obama feels that he has solidly secured the Jewish vote and therefore, can continue to further his anti-Israel agenda. Maybe he realizes that American Jews will turn a blind eye on his anti-Semitism and keep voting democrat until it is too late because they value socialism above Israel? The socialism of Obama and the Democrats, as they coddle Islamists in their “workers of the world, unite” meme, is destroying Israel. Just like the Jews that allied with the communists in the Soviet Union in the name of “equality” only to face further discrimination and subjugation. As much as we tried to assimilate ourselves into the “equality” that communism promised it was always understood that we were second class citizens. The one time in Soviet school when the Holocaust was mentioned my history teacher stated that the “real tragedy of the Holocaust was when ethnic Russians and Ukrainians were mistaken for being Jewish and killed while the actual Jews were able to escape.” How disturbing it is to see that we have now come full circle with American Jews self-destructing all in the name of socialism.
